## People At Mulberry we are proud of our diverse workforce and believe fair and equal reward is vital to our success as a community and as an international luxury fashion house.
## Our Craft Mulberry is the largest employer in the village of Chilcompton, Somerset, home to our flagship factory The Rookery. In 2013, we opened a second factory in Bridgwater which brought our community of craftspeople to over 500 people. These highly-skilled artisans make approximately 50% of our bags in our carbon-neutral factories.
## Apprenticeships In 2006 we took on our first apprentices in Leather Goods Manufacturing through a new government-approved programme, supported by Skillset UK and Bridgwater College. We are pleased to see many of these graduates now working in our factories, progressing in their careers and passing on their skills to a new generation of apprentices in areas from product development to planning and market support.
## Careers Originally a family-run company, working as a community is still at the heart of Mulberry as we continue to grow internationally and uphold these employee values together. ## Charity & Community For the release of our Portobello Tote, we partnered with the World Land Trust. We donated all net proceeds from the sale of our first 100% sustainable leather bag to this important charity In 2019, we have also partnered with Beam (offering education and training to people who have experienced homelessness), Grief Encounter (supporting bereaved children and their families) and Coppafeel (increasing awareness and knowledge of breast cancer).
