Mulberry is proud to be the largest manufacturer of leather goods in the UK. Founder Roger Saul started making products at his kitchen table in Somerset, and over the decades we have remained dedicated to supporting British manufacturing in Somerset. Mulberry currently produces 50% of its leather bags in the UK.
To ensure our British manufacturing legacy is future-proof, we run an apprenticeship scheme in conjunction with a local college in Somerset. The programme in Leather Goods Manufacturing launched in 2006 and has been a resounding success, with 84 apprentices graduating and more than 60 still with the company as permanent employees. The apprenticeship scheme trains the next generation of British craftsmen and women, who are the beating heart of our brand.
