The inspiration behind Made to Last, is our Responsibility Approach: Mulberry Green. This title reflects both our signature colour and our respect for the natural world. It is based on the principle that Mulberry will make a positive difference to its people, the environment and the community in which it works and is focused around materials, manufacturing, product and people.
We believe in responsibly sourcing all raw materials used in the production of Mulberry goods.
Our overarching aim is to consistently improve our sustainability metrics within our supply chain, from factories to point of sale.
Made to Last Mulberry is committed to producing quality products that are made to be last, to be loved and then passed on to the next generation.
Our focus is on creating a dynamic and open workplace that complements and supports our local communities.
Mulberry: Made to Last
14th – 16th February 2020
This London Fashion Week Mulberry invited you behind the scenes with Made to Last, inspired by our responsibility commitments to past, present and future. An immersive installation brought our craft and design ethos to life, complemented by a three-day programme of industry talks, exclusive events, craft workshops and a pop-up café.
Our carbon-neutral Somerset factories were transported to Bond Street! Our craftspeople created the 100% sustainable Portobello in limited-edition colours.
The Mulberry Exchange
Have your pre-loved Mulberry bags authenticated and appraised, with the opportunity to put this value towards a new purchase, or browse an exciting selection of pre-restored bags.
Our Talks programme featured industry leaders, including our Creative Director Johnny Coca, discussing everything from creativity to sustainability from a fresh new perspective.
Intrinsically versatile, understated and unisex, the M collection integrates seamlessly into the modern wardrobe. Each piece has been crafted with a durable and water-repellent jacquard, made from a bespoke blend of ECONYL® regenerated nylon and sustainable cotton.
The collection’s signature print sees the Mulberry M interlocked in a play on Brutalist architecture and heritage textiles to create an elegantly utilitarian motif.
Our first 100% sustainable leather bag, the Portobello is made at Mulberry’s carbon-neutral Somerset factories with Heavy Grain leather from a gold-rated tannery and a recycled polyester thread. Watch the bag being made in real time by our craftspeople at the Bond Street Artisan Studio during London Fashion Week.
“Our starting point for this family was the ultimate everyday item, the plastic bag – functional, but throwaway. The Portobello keeps the beautiful utility of this silhouette and elevates it into an elegant tote that is practical and, more importantly, made to last.” – Johnny Coca, Mulberry Creative Director.
